Times are tough, the world Economy's in chaos and everyone's worried about money. It's hardly a wonder then why so many people are turning to the internet to make some extra cash or in some cases work from home completely and earn money online.
A great idea but the question is. How easy is it to actually earn online? Are you ready for the truth?
The internet is still very young but despite that it has changed so dramatically over the few years that it's been around and so have peoples attitudes to it. Back in the year 2005 earning money online was a very easy task but at the present time it's now significantly harder.
There are many reason for this but here are the top 3:
1. Major internet big boys (e.g. Google, Facebook, Twitter etc) are now making it much harder for the little guy/girl to get a slice of the action. For example Google Adwords (Google's cost-per-click network) used to be an easy way for even newbie entrepreneurs to earn some serious money online, but those days are long gone now because clicks are simply too expensive to give a return on investments, also Google's polices are much stricter now.
2. The credit crunch has make people more cautious about spending money and that is no less true online. Don't think though that people are not spending any money. They are, but you have to do something differently in this day and age if you want to get them to part with it so you can earn online.
3. Peoples perceptions of the internet have changed. This is by far the most important point. What worked a few years ago when trying to earn money online doesn't work today. Amongst many other reasons the most important thing is that there is so much rubbish on the internet that people have become less inclined to hand over their money due to lack of trust.
In the old days it was easy. Find a market, create the product for that market, drive targeted traffic to the website, people buy the product, you earn online.
Unfortunately these days people are much less trusting online and therefore more reluctant to hand over their money.
Drive traffic to an email opt-in list and offer them something of great value just for giving their email address to you. Once they are on your list you can then build trust with them by continuously giving them quality content for free (even most of the top experts don't know know this trick). After a while you can then offer them something of greater value for them if they're willing to pay for it, which they will be once they trust you enough. After that you can then earn some real money online.
For those of you who are just starting out you can drive traffic to other peoples email opt-in forms and they will pay you for doing so. These are called Cost per action (CPA) networks and are great for newbie's to make money online
