Here are 2 clips from the feature film Frost: Portrait of a Vampire. The first clip required the source audio to be synched to the picture manually. The second required the same as well as using the audio from alternative takes to replace spots where the visual was good, but the original sound was off in some way.

(Note: I did not mix the dialog on these clips. See the Mixing & Mastering Reel for an example of dialog mixing. )

  • First, please read the description before commenting. I did not mix the dialog(i.e. set stereo field or levels), I sync'd both and replaced unusable audio with audio from alternate takes as best as was possible. There was no ADR session so the acoustics comment is strange, since all sound was recorded from the same location. Of course, suggesting that the postsound guy can control the emotion an actor has in their voice is equally strange.

  • 1:49 is way off... if it's not different recordings, it's baaaad mic placement / handling.

  • acoustics dont match, the sound is way too stereo, adr cuts are noticeable and the words have too little emotion.
