Um Ill be back in a few, I forgot to do something Selena murmured.
OK, Demi replied. So like I was so Demi continued as Selena got up from the table and walked away.
Selena got away from all the chaos on the café and looked for Nate. She heard a faint whisper. Nate? Selena whispered back. Nate, is that you? she started walking down the hall looking in all the nooks and crannies for a dark haired boy in khakis and a T-shirt.
Pst! they shouted.
Nate? Selena called again.
Over here. Nate was slumped on a bench causally waiting for Selena.
What are you doing? Were not supposed to be here!
What are you worried about? Teachers arent around; theyre too busy worrying about school to notice students youre such a goody two shoes Nate rolling his eyes, getting comfy on the bench. What are you waiting for? Come on, sit down
Um.. Selena hesitated. She edged forward then took a step back.
What are you afraid of? Were not gonna get caught. Nate chuckled.
Youve done this before? Selena questioned, finally sitting down.
psh-you dont-I mean yea..
OK thats it, you are totally freaking me out! I want to truth right now!!!! Tell me everything! Selena stood up and wagged her finger at Nate. Or I swear Selena balled up her fists.
OK, OK, Nate backed away. OK, look Im sort of a little demon, but I notice you from a far. I say my life sucks, but I see you and my mind goes off and I believe I can make it through the day. Its why Im here everyday, and not skipping. I like you, I think youre incredibly beautiful and youre not like any of the girls at this school. Youre different, so down to earth and so kind and willing. I love it. Nate smiled. Selena was totally silent, her eyes locked on his. Do you remember that little boy from second grade, the little blonde one, short, really quite Nate asked.
Yeah, I think what was his name Tyler? Selena guessed.

Yeah. He was weird, always quiet and all he did at recess was sit on a bench and watch kids play. It was a little odd, whenever I looked over at him, he was always staring and me, straight face, no emotion Selena rolled her eyes back trying to remember the scene.
Well I certainly remembered that kid. He WAS quiet, but its not that he was quiet, it was because he did not have many friends, he was observant, smart, intellectual.

I never said I was a failing student, all I said was that I was bad. Im quite intelligent, I just choose to not try.
I remember that boy saying he had a crush on a little girl with back hair and brown eyes. She always hung out with her sister and brother.
I-I-I used to do that Selena chocked out, letting her hand rest on her upper chest.

Ohmigod. Selena dropped her mouth and had her hand her hand cover the openness. Im so sorry I- I was just- its nice to meet you Selena caved in.
Ive had a crush on you ever since I saw you on the first day of second grade. Nate admitted.
YOU WHAT? Selena questioned.
You were cute as a button. Your dark, long, wavy hair was amazing, and you had a really cute sun dress on with red cherries plastered on it, and a red clip holding your bangs back. You twirled for the teacher and I caught a whiff of your hair, it smelled like a sweet cherry blossom, my mom used the same kind. Huh- I just noticed that you were cherry themed that day. Nate dazed thinking about that precious memory.
How did you know all that especially those details, I didnt know what I wore on the first day of second grade, let alone do I know what I wore last week! Selena gasped.
You smelled like peaches on the second week of second grade
Selena gave Nate a confused look. He just smiled.
Well, the truth is, I dont have many friends either. I guess I grew up in a large family, I never spread out to find my own clique, its always been me, Demi, and Nick well of course then theres Miley But Ive been happy, weve grown really close and we respect each other very much we protect each other Selena confessed, brushing her hands along her books. In the second grade I was kind of shy, afraid of branching out. I saw you and felt like we had special connection, but I was too scared to talk to you. Selena mumbled.
Nate sighed, Me too
They looked up and smiled.
Hey. Well Im glad we got everything sorted out do you want to meet up again sometime?
Id like that Selena smiled.
How about I meet you at the Corner Café at 4:00 this afternoon? Nate suggested.
Um well I have dance right after school, Id be all nasty
Well how about 4:30?
I-I can make that work, Ill see you then Selena waved.
