That's praise indeed

It is so good that this film sticks to true narrative style, by which I mean that what you see could be happening and follows on logically from what you have just seen. But that doesn't stop the plot being contorted to the very limits - "I've dropped my feather" is the smallest excuse for shouting for help, but the gulability of our hero rises to the occasion. This film is beautiful however many times you watch it.

The girl at the end was just a random ending. A satire on the girl at the end of silent films thanking the hero. But inthis case she didn't actually have anything todowiththe story at all. Ahead of its time in the self referential comedy.
