Here the PS22 Chorus of 2009 tackle one of the most straightforward and beautiful Tori Amos ballads, my dad's favorite actually, 1000 Oceans from the classic 1999 double album, TO VENUS AND BACK. (I highly advise the November 11, 2007 version off of the Nashville Tennessee Legs And Boots official Tori Amos bootlegs from her latest American Doll Posse tour) which I believe available on iTunes, although there are other wonderful live recordings of this song floating around.)
The kids sound brilliant here and Allie outdoes herself on the solo. It's hard to believe they learned this in two practices, and Allie just learned her part THAT MORNING! This may wind up being one of the best PS22 Chorus Tori Amos covers of all time!
Thanks to Mr. Chris Eberle for playing guitar with us, and Miss Lisa as always for her brilliant filming! :)
Make sure you watch our rehearsal video with a few of the chorus members after school where the kids sing it a capella. Silly but fun and nice.
The PS22 Chorus is not an intermediate school or high school chorus. Believe it or not, these kids are just a public elementary school chorus, and have soared to great heights, singing with the likes of Tori Amos, Crowded House, and Judy Torres. They were featured in USA Today, The New York Daily News, and on the VH1 blog) Perez Hilton even featured the chorus on two separate occasions on his blog. They will be appearing in the upcoming and updated version of the PBS classic Electric Company. These kids are on a roll....
UPDATE: Perez Hilton put this video on his blog, making this the third time he has covered the PS22 Chorus kid celebrities. Thanks to Perez for his support.... :)

This such a well written and beautiful songs and you children have just made this song EVEN BETTER with your voices, you're little earthly angels with your voices...keep on doing what you do and never let anyone in this world keep you from your DREAMS!
Lots of love and blessings to all of you within your lives -Robert Casey
Still by far my favorite PS22 song. And Allie has always been my favorite soloist. Her voice is so unique, I love Altos and the passion she puts into her performance is inspiring.
