The making of the Briggs and Stratton 3hp converted to run on compressed air or steam. I also included the first run and the failed first attempt.

  • The ignition coil is causing resistance. It would run a lot smoother and start off easier if you removed it.

  • @Cytacon Watch other run video. I removed it.

  • I was going to do this but I was thinking the air would force open the intake valve all the time. How much pressure do you think that valve spring can hold back?

  • @andrew100dukw The valve spring will hold back about 120psi or so before it lifts. Lap the valves to increase pressure. Run a test and see once you make the inlet fitting and add heavier springs on the intake side if it lifts to early.

  • good luck with that making sure cylinder has oil and crankcase has oil will help so will fixing that timing, which you have a plan for. I have a steam bicycle, but I am trying to get running correctly myself.

  • @Stanleyguy101 I have another video of it running better. I put oil in it and changed the timing and ground the cam a bit.

  • @Cytacon Don't you guys think that a Wankel Engine would convert to air a little easier?

    Just a thought
