Foulke left his dressing room unclothed and pursued the referee, Tom Kirkham, who took refuge in a broom cupboard. Foulke had to be stopped by a group of F.A. officials from wrenching the cupboard door from its hinges to reach the hapless referee.
People often take the piss now when I say I'm a Spurs fan and have been for almost forty years. Screw 'em: only non-league team top win the Cup, First to do the double in the 20th Century when it was considered virtually impossible, first to bring home a European trophy by not only beating but pulverising the previous year's winners, thus again showing what was possible and inspiring every British success in Europe thereafter.
