I wish i had the sh-101.

a) if I am not mistaken that's an early proto-type mobile keyboard stand under the SH-01. b) I remember those days all too well . .

I love this--basking in nostalgia here. I bought my first synth in 1992 and it was an sy77. Still works, still love it, and will never sell it but I still wish I had waited for the 99.
Pushing 20 years ago!! What an exciting time that was. Thanks for posting.

WOW. Thank you. I'm amazed by the candid nature of that clip- like it was filmed in anticipation of youtube. Also by your Yamaha collection. Acid wash jeans are a serious flashback.
I didn't realize the sy77 could sample. Can the TG77 also record? (I know it can modulate with built-in samples..)

Hi, seeplus! The SY/TG77 do not sample. My board was MIDI'd up to a couple of external samplers. I still have an SY99, which accepts sample dumps from other units.

at that time I had an emax sampler(the first one) I had an alpha juno 2 and a dw8000 all sequenced using an old Roland Mc-500 4 track sequencer....I cant imagine how I got anything done but I grooved along typing my way through it.
Now I cant seem to finish anything using all this new gear.
I never got into the old DX Stuff.
I DO however regret selling my FS1R synth.
it was GREAT....truly smooth.
thanks for the Time travel..
do you still have all that hair?
LesFarrington 3 years ago
Yes, I still have the hair. You can see it blowing around in the "OASYS Ultimate" video.
As for the old days, I was laying music down on reel to reel and cassette. This really made me appreciate the quality of sequencer playback.
I've heard a lot about the FS1R and its morph filter. Lovely piece of hardware! I will always dig FM synths.

Sorry, I meant to say sampling frequency up to 50 kilohertz, not 50hz! 20 years later, current Korg synths are still at 48khz.
Yes, the TX816 was the bomb!! Only sold it, because of some financial trouble. *sob*
