This tribute video was put together by my good friend and freestyle designer, "Theo van Bruggen" (www.horsedances.net) and his wife Rita. Theo did Belinda and Goffert's (Herbie) musical freestyles for competition and exhibitions. It's a lovely tribute with footage taken during the 125 Celebration of the Friesian Horse in the NL's. Please feel free to post your thoughts. (have your kleenex handy)

  • Every time i see this clip I remember Goffert when he was very tiny and just born, he was born raised on the farm of my parents in Frisia and then sold to the Iron Spring Farm where he found a new home.

My grandfather who did his first training was very proud when he came back for the celebration, brought tears to his eyes, Herbie will be missed...

  • i love him so much and i cryed when i watched this R.I.P gorffert

  • how did he!!! and ho wold was he

  • oh poor thing R.I.P BBZ gawgus boy BEST breyer model u can get

  • he was put down in spring '07 due to severe colic.

  • In one of the latest issues of the magazine Equus (Issue # 381), researchers found that Friesian horses are more at risk to developing Megasophagus, which the issue states as "an abnormality in the passageway from the mouth to the stomach (esophagus) that can lead to obstruction and other complications". It says that this can lead to Pneumonia, Loss of Appetite, Weight Reduction or Colic. It's entirely possible that was a factor in his death, we may never know.

    RIP Goffert. You were Beautiful.
