@nx01alpha I think that was partially due to him semi-retiring a few years earlier. He became sick about a year later.

Thanks for the Ernie Anderson promo....if I recall correctly, Anderson didn't voice many ABC promos anymore around this time.

For many years it was on weeknights after the news back when Nightline didn't air until 12:05. Eventually, Nightline would air live at 11:35 and Cheers would air weekends at 11:35 until being replaced by 'The Practice' repeats and a couple of years airing as filler on weekend afternoons. Cheers finally left 'TAE about three or four years ago for WPGH/WPTT.
