I totally remember this ad. I also liked the one with George Blanda kicking a field goal in an empty stadium with the Schaefer logo at the 50 yard line. I think it's time that Schaefer beer made a comeback. Hell, it tastes better than Budweiser. You never see ads for Schaefer, Schlitz, Pabst, Carling Black Label or Old Mil on tv anymore. Yet, Keystone light has the funny "Keith Stone" ads running.
So, getting girls is really that easy? Just provide cheap beer and a bag of potato chips and you can have all of the Scandinavian stewardesses that you could ever want! Yah? Oh Yah!!
Buy this beer. Buy it. Why? Because the Big Boys (Miller and Anheuser-Busch) are putting out garbage beers at this price level. Don't let them get away with it. Crap like "Natural Ice" and "Milwaukee's Best" don't deserve to push the old school inexpensive brews off the shelf. SPEAK UP and ASK for Schaeffer. A decent beer shouldn't have to come from a big company. And in this economy, VALUE is what it is all about. Price is one thing. Quality is another. VALUE is where they meet!
How something tastes is mostly a matter of opinion. I've tried many, many beers and love Schaefer, even if it costs twice as much I'd still drink it. Probably 1 of the best low cost beers, tastes better than many higher cost beers. Good body, not bitter, nice finish.
I don't remember this Schaefer City ad and it's so cornball I'd bet it never aired.
I remember the one with the nerd on a blind date with Marcy Hopkins, the guy snowed in and has to ski on a workday, the geek and his buddies winning at the track after betting on the wrong horse ("Wallflower!"), the guys who got ringside boxing tickets next to Rosie Grier....and that's about it.
Personally I prefer the Schafer Circle commercials with Blanda, Mays, West, Andretti, etc.
One of the best ear worms ever. This was so much catchier than the other Schaefer jingle!
