Typical start-up... with a little 'twist'. I come across the occasional slipped blower wheel every now and then. It's an easy fix for a seemingly major problem. For those of you that actually READ the video descriptions.... just say "Meat Grinder!"

  • You have a lyrical way with the English language. Don't let a female hear you talk like that. Lol.

I commissioned a Goodman for a friend a while back. The wheel was shipped like that from the factory and the set screw was very tight. Strange.

Was the set screw tight or loose? Did it come that way or did it happen over time?

  • @tstatech Between you and I... I suspect the motor slipped in its mount. I didn't pull the motor/blower assembly to split the hairs. It was easier and faster to adjust the squirrel cage. It was a warranty call from a menopausal stuporintendant. I just did what I could do as quickly as possible to stem the bleeding because I had a boatload of calls to attend before my day was over.

  • even after you adjusted the wheel, it sounded loud, almost like the wheel was damaged? i enjoy your videos btw.

  • @fetisov02 I leaned on the wheel a bit when I spun it manually. That blower wheel shouldn't be damaged because I did the initial start-up. It sounded fine when the blower spun up after the call for fan. Glad you like my videos. I'll post more after my 'vacation'.

  • why not just change out their blower motor? it would've made your boss happy.

  • @SteezyProductionInc Why replace a perfectly good part? It's a waste of time that I could spend doing paid service work.

  • @mikie2501 I'm barraged with those political sayings. It's almost unbearable here in CA with the taxes, fees, regulations, etc. Various elections and voting measures are going to shake this state up in the next year or so. Much better business climate in Texas. "You can't keep down The Fort. Fort Bend County, Texas". Huge advertising campaign we're hearing in SoCal.

  • @PutSome5tankOnIt I'm mikie2501 and I approve of deporting all politicians and lawyers. (word substitution IS allowed for entertainment purposes:)

  • If the damper was connected to the 'open' terminal, the damper would be powered up (and it would close) when there was a call for heat or AC.

Those dampers are shipped in the 'open' position. Power is applied to close them. The servo motor can be relocated to the other side of the damper assembly and the default position of the damper plate changed to 'closed'. The motor turns in one direction only when powered up. An internal spring returns the motor to the default position (not powered up).

  • yes it was i spoke to him about it before alot of the homes he does are new homes but have no power for a long time before the sale so the batterys run low on the smoke alarms.
