Outrage in Parliament over Ringera

For the second day running, heated debate engulfed the chamber of the national assembly as Members of Parliament Parliament continued to express outrage over the reappointment of Aaron Ringera as director of the Kenya Anti Corruption Authority. President Mwai Kibaki reappointed Ringera on Tuesday in a step that has been greeted with fury both inside and outside parliament. NTVs Rashid Ronald was in parliament in an afternoon where knowledge of law, passion and wit counted for ones survival through an abrasive debate.

whether legal or not, Murungi and kilonzo should look at the spirit of the law. The said act was meant to insulate KACC from the claws of the executive so that they can be impartial when pursuing corruption. Ringera is now beholden to the president and does not enjoy the confidence of Kenyans. The president has forgotten the blodletting that was the consequences of unilateralism when he appointed ECK commissioners without consultation.
