Just because our shallow and fickle public does not elevate someone, it does not mean they are not deserving. After all....they love reality TV and Lady Gaga. Having been a performer and teacher for decades, I have known many, many brilliant musicians who deserved fame, but remained obscure due to lack of financial backing, marketing, etc.
