We were asked to write a 6 word memoir in philosophy class. Missing my childhood, and the creativity that went along with it, I fed that feeling into 6 words, "I miss coloring on paper walls." Thus, I had my inspiration for this song.

I'm also not the best singer, so judge my piano playing, not my singing :)

I miss coloring
On paper walls
When I was young,
Young and reckless.
I miss staring at the sky
And thinking that I
Could swing that high
With just one push.

I miss the way
Things used to be;
So carefree
And easy.
I miss staring in the face
Of simple innocence;
The make-believe games,
So easily entertained.

I am not saying I won't miss it,
But I gotta try to embrace this.

When you've been coloring on
Paper walls your whole life,
Nothing seem to matter
Just the moment in time.
Then you grow up,
And everything does change.
Take the time to remember
The good days.

I miss the feeling
Of never choosing,
Always believing and
Always moving.
I miss creativity,
All the things it gave me
Like traveling around
With every possibility.

I am not saying I won't miss it,
But I gotta try to embrace this.
And I am not trying to fill the silence,
Just hoping that it all makes sense.
