... Strong winds over Illinois and Indiana...

A Wind Advisory was issued this morning for strong wind gusts to
around 45 mph. Many locations reached or even exceeded this heavy
gust value with several more hours to continue. Winds should start
subsiding to lower values at sunset but should remain quite strong
overnight and even continue through Friday.

Damage was reported in Montgomery Illinois... southwest of Aurora...
this afternoon where a 12 by 12 gazebo was toppled.

  • we had one such storm in sofia bulgaria, november 2007. it started with heavy rain and wind and thunder, then it turned into snow and in 4 hours there were about 20cm. too bad i didnt have camera, it was spectacular..

  • funny... I remember watching this all form JUST east of me... I have great pictures, I posted a video response. You must have gotten hit by at least two cells... because they were training... Did you?

  • I remember this storm, I live at the edge on Oak Forest moving into Tinley, it hailed and the sky got dark gray.

  • I remember that...ohhh bad memories. We got flooded in our backyard SOOO badly.
