THE SPECTACULAR BOLAN PASS, BALOCHISTAN (PAKISTAN)

If you have a passion for smelling history through places, you must visit the legendary Bolan Pass.Drive to the highest point of the pass to see the stunning panoramic views .Its an important natural gateway through the Central Brāhui Range in Balochistān province, Pakistan, connecting Sibi with Quetta by road and railway. For centuries it has been a route for traders, invaders, and nomadic tribes between India and higher Asia. It comprises a series of long, narrow valleys or gorges and extends for 55 miles (89 km) from Rindli in the south to Darwāza near Kolpur in the north.
A railroad and highway cross the pass en route to the Afghanistan frontier. Strategically located, traders, invaders, and nomadic tribes used it as a gateway to India.
One of the greatest Engineering feats of British rule in India was to lay a railway track through the famous Bolan Pass. More than a century old, this railway track still generates an awe among rail enthusiasts all over the world.
