Everybody seeks approval from others and seeks to be liked. It is a human condition of a pack animal. It is in our genes. Pack animals NEED this in order to have a strong unit and not a disorderly one. In today's worl we don't need it us much any more especially in urban life, but it is leftover in all of us and it's not going to go away anytime soon. Evolution is slow...

Very good video. The Fountainhead changed the way I thought - nice to see others have been affected in a similar way. There's nothing wrong with your accent. Well done.

Good discussion.

Just finished The Fountainhead. I wish I had read it earlier. I had read Atlas Shrugged before, but I think The Fountainhead is just as important.

I'm from wv as well and this book had a major impact on my outlook on life. it blew my mind in ways i cant begin to explain. anyway, i felt compelled to post this comment because i never expected to see a fellow West Virginian talking about this book when i typed in 'peter keating'..
people from wv really do get pigeonholed for being a bunch of backasswards hicks, but we're really just like everybody else - with a funny accent. keep up the posts bro, great synopsis. very human.
I think the prefect way to be Howard Roark, is to ask other people the correct way to be Howard Roark.

@amphibian200 Yep, when I made this video over a year ago, I was seeking advice from those more versed in Objectivism than I was at the time. Thanks, anyway. :)
