.99¢ = 99/100 of 1 cent (That's LESS than 1 penny.)
$.99 = 99/100 of 1 dollar
$.99 = 99 cents or 99¢
Why do people not know this?
.99¢ makes no sense anyway as numbers appearing to the right of the decimal point ALWAYS represent a fraction of 1. Whole number ALWAYS appear to the left of the decimal point.

shouldn't it be written 0,004/0.344 instead of vice versa?

@Acontador13 The number that goes inside the long division "corner" is the dividend, or the number you are dividing. And 0.004 is the divisor.
