'The Monster of Peladon' is a weaker direct sequel to 'The Curse of Peladon'. Great to see some old faces return like Alpha Centuri and Aggedor, and the Ice Warriors make a welcome (and much needed) return halfway into the story as it slows down to a halt by part 3! It's only Pertwee and Sladen who really hold this story together and make it watchable up to part 3. Overall this feels more like a retread over what's already gone before.

'The Monster of Peladon' is only worth a 4/10 I'm afraid.

Just watched the Monster of Peladon DVD.  VERY good story and great DVD with nice extras, and loads of optional commentary and text. In some ways "Monster.." is a better story than "Curse...". It's far more complex and adult with multiple storylines. Pertwee/Sladen are naturals together. Sarah is very strong here, sometimes running the Dr's plan when he is jailed or thought dead.

Think Season-11-era-DW was a kids show? Lis Sladen in those TIGHT pants wasn't aiming at age 12! YOWSA!!

Ello. I liked your review. My Dad @TheRalphWatson (on Twitter) played Ettis in Monster of Peladon, and yes he does look like a badger, and yes he does give The Doctor a serious Arse-Kicking. Keep up the good work. Not the best serial but he's been in loads of Doctor Who. He always dies.

...Well I'm doing some too. Mine are shorter and more brief reviews adapted from longer reviews I've done elsewhere before. I just thought I'd share my own views seeing as I've also (in the past) watched (or listened to audio where the story is missing or incomplete) all of the Doctor Who stories. I'm sure Lopez doesn't mind. It also gives other viewers maybe a different viewpoint?

@Tricklestone she tells the monster very quickly whilst the doctor is trying to hypnotise it (I think, memory is not that great) it's in the middle of a lot of "back off's" but said ever so quickly.

@Tricklestone I think, if memory serves me correct, that it is when the doctor is trying to keep the monster at bay (I think he is trying to hypnotise it or something??) and Jo gets in there and tells it to back off a few times but very quickly inserts a "Go on fuck off" in there. It IS very quickly said though.
