OnStar Reverses Terms and Conditions

We announced today we are reversing the proposed Terms and Conditions policy changes and will not keep a data connection to customers' vehicles after the OnStar service is canceled.

So, when last week you insisted that ONSTAR does not track if you are no subscribed, and when I insisted that that was a lie, it all comes out that YOU DID INDEED LIE, and enough people realized it to start such an attack on ONSTAR that you guys are now willing to BACKSLIDE to PR this thing a bit!

Hi @tgvas - I just want to clarify we did not lie. OnStar does not, has not, and does not plan to continuously track or monitor any vehicles, period. You specifically stated that you do not track ppl who are not subscribed, and I specifically called you out as a liar, claiming that you indded do tract ppl who are not subscribed.

On, 03-05-2012 while driving my 4x4 on NV Route 94A I tried calling OnStar @usual manner. OnStar FAILED to Connect ! I in a remote desert location & OnStar FAILED to locate me - This is dangerous to my life ! I signed on to OnStar for the sole purpose of having OnStar locate me in the desert and OnStar failed. After driving to NV Route 92 finally got connected, but when I asked where you were while I needed you @Route 95A I got an answer like You (meaning me) must have had a bad connection. BS

I will never own a GM vehicle because of BS like this. The taxpayer is getting screwed by ONSTAR because of back room dealings. We shouldn't be subsidizing an industry to make BS like this ONSTAR system and a free year of service standard on all GM vehicles when we know damn well that they WOULDN'T be competitive in a true free market!

Hmm...... I was thinking of  perhaps looking into a Chevy Volt, but then seeing as I cannot buy the vehicle WITHOUT onstar being there... perhaps I should look at a Nissan Leaf or Tesla motors. I want vehicle without the equipment being there.

I thought that would get her, ....., sad, when the FACTS, and the TRUTH silence the Corporate World, we should all know that, perhaps, limiting our purchases to older Cars and Trucks that were MADE IN THE USA, or Foriegn Autos without this BS, And we should perhaps also limiting all of our Appliance purchases to the pre-CHINA MART garbage, used items on EBAY or fleamarkt

@tgvas - I agree TGVAS! I didn't like GM or the others after they took the bailout and now I dislike GM even more with this nonsense! It's sad to say ... but my next car, for the first time in my life, will be a foreign model!

Most leo's that I know are wounderful people, salt of the earth, I do not believe for a moment that they subsribe to the thinking that OnStar is something neccersary or Constitutional, we all know that this is all about INsurance companies, corporations who like to control and tract us all,

Is it more important for the US Auto Industry to make back room deals like this, or to regain the trust of it's customers???, we will see!
