"First reason to support Tivoli was strong brand equity that Tivoli had built in the marketplace after its acquisition by IBM. HCL, also is working with some of the Tivoli products for IBM and is supporting it from offshore. The second reason was that Tivoli covers all the pain points that we mentioned & arguably has the broadest portfolio for IT infrastructure management and IT service management in the industry today. Going forward we feel the adoption of other security management technologies like Tivoli Identity manager and Tivoli access manager, these benefits will then spread across to other areas like user identity management & provisioning, defining access privileges & also get hold of compliance reports from a security standpoint. The administrator can take necessary actions from the Tivoli console itself rather than learn the individual system administration tool sets. These should bring down the costs. We also plan to leverage on the extremely strong capabilities that Tivoli acquisition of Micromuse brings to the table in terms of vault management, performance management & business service management. We expect Micromuse's net portfolio to significantly augment our capabilities of managing the It infrastructure within HCL. Tivoli works."
