Mel Henke's "China Clipper" was an oft-requested tune in the Arthur Lyman book—making it a perfect candidate for treatment by the modern exotica band The WAITIKI 7.

Performed by The WAITIKI 7 and presented by WAITIKI INTERNATIONAL at the first-ever Sounds of Exotica Lounge show, "China Clipper" features the beboppin' tenor sax of Tim Mayer, vibist Jim Benoit, pianist Zaccai Curtis, and drummer Abe Lagrimas Jr. Joining the band on this tune is percussionist Harold Chang, formerly of the Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman groups.
