The truth is that he is a great athlete and a great champion.
If he has chosen to representing Greece, we have to respect it.

Ο Έλληνας τζουντόκα ήταν "καυτός" από τον πρώτο αγώνα και δεν άφησε κανέναν να αμφισβητήσει την ανωτερότητά του μέσα στο τατάμι. Σημείωσε έξι νίκες, συμπεριλαμβανομένου και δύο επί Ιαπώνων τζουντόκα. Η δεύτερη εξ αυτών στον τελικό της κατηγορίας, όπου στο golden score έκαμψε την αντίσταση του Νταίκι Νισιγιάμα εκτοξεύοντας το ελληνικό τζούντο στην κορυφή του κόσμου.
