I have always wondered why particular drawl are the guards trying to replicate in this movie. The movie seems to be set in the deep south but the guards sound like they are from jersey

I hated that f***er Percy Wetmore. I was glad when his karma came back, bit him in the butt, & he got tossed in the mental institution he wanted to work at.
This movie was UNBELIEVABLE from beginning to end. They could've made Paul Edgecomb a corrupt bad - ass, but they didn't.
A work of ART !!! Even in the use of light.
