Takizawa wasn't that fast when he got just out of Keirin school, but he trained and practiced so hard - fuckin' respect him, man.

i recently bought a 3rensho frame that belonged to the monster. does anyone have any links or information about the man? i'd be really interested to find out more about him and his career.

I had the pleasure of meeting him and watching him race up close at his prime in '83-84. He was a friend and keirin school alum chum of my brother-in-law's. I watched him take the lead BEFORE the bell lap and go all the way to the finish with others battling for 2nd place in one of the big races of the year (Prince Takamatsu, Biwako Keirinjo/ Velodrome) against the top racers of the era including Nakano mind you. He won this way many times which earned him the well deserved "monster" title.
