  • I was wondering about that! So it is possible? Wow! :)

  • It's not as natural as on an irish flute, but it can be done. When it comes to a folk instrument, less is usually more.

    Thanks

  • Great tune. Nicely played! There's a version of this tune on the Wooden Flute Obsession volume 1 by Garry Shannon, which is absolutely awesome.

  • Thank you. Where can I get that CD?

  • Thank you! I do also enjoy playing the six hole irish flute and often go through phases of playing the silver flute and then the six-hole.

  • I'm amazed, we can play irish tone on silver flute?

  • The tone isn't the same as a wooden flute, unless you get a wooden headjoint. But you can come very close! Listen to the playing of Joanie Madden, Noel Rice, or Sean Moloney. They are brilliant players who all use silver flutes. I think Sean Moloney uses both types of flutes.

  • that key noise is like a bodhran haha

  • can you do jethro tull songs? =)

  • You might consider switching keys for your solo playing as this can work more fluently with the instrument's mechanism. Also , in tunes which exend below middle C this will preserve the melodic architecture of the piece together with the tone contrasts of the piece. Keep up the good work!! ..Tom

  • omg! thats beautiful!

    where cani get sheet music?

  • brilliant, i prefer playing irish music on the silver flute. Mainly because i suck at the irish flute, but still... Great playing!

  • You have to turn some of his videos up really loud.

  • a boehm flute is not an irish flute but you could try a wooden headjoint by mark obren from leithold instruments, its design is cilindrical as irish and barroque flutes

  • I totally agree with your view

  • i cant get a sound out of it
