This was a video I made to put in the "special features" section of my DVD "My Story, My Journey".

This is NOT a complete tour, it's mostly the route I took from my dorm (Simon KY Lee Hall) and through the main parts of campus. However it should give you a sense of the scenery which is quite nice.

  • Thanks for the mini-tour!

I'm currently applying for an exchange semester there.

Just wondering what kind of difficulties I should be prepared for as someone who only speaks english?

  • @TheShortStory English is the 2nd official language of Hong Kong. So you should have no troubles :)

  • oh yeah and how much was the university tuition?

  • @SweetlySammie This will depend on if you are planning to attend as an exchange student or as a regular student. If you're an exchange student like I was than seek out your schools exchange program. If you're applying to HKU normally than ask admissions.

  • Yes, Hong Kong has two official languages, Cantonese and English. HKU is taught only in English unless the entire class is local students. Hong Kong is a very international city, there are many people from all over the world and they all use English to communicate. All street signs are also in English.

I don't think there is a 3 month program, but trust me, you'll want to stay longer even if you do a 6 month :)

  • Awesome English for a chinese guy

  • i love the music and the tour ty..

  • damn is it a must to pass in chinese? its my main difficulties.

  • I want to be an exchange student to HKU as well! what are the general requirements?!

  • @sean861031 "All American Rejects - Move Along"

  • @gtrshreder Check with HKU admissions, if you're going as an exchange student like me then start with your own school's study abroad dept. As for PT jobs, language won't be an issue it'll be getting proper documentation/visas. If you're not from HK you'll need a student visa to attend HKU, I don't think they allow student visas with work visas. Well, maybe you can find a PT job that pays under the table.

  • @ekho84 Awh, thank you! That's really helpful. :)
