this is one of the best of marika rokks musical her second color film and her last film unutil she had worked out her prohibition on film work by 1948

She was to the Germans what Rita Hayworth was to the US in the war years between 1940 and 1945. A talented dancing and singing actress that let the soldiers forget the terrible war.I even think this movie copied
quite a lot from Hayworth´s "Cover Girl" realized exactly the same year ( 1943 ).
Goebbels had spies in the US and loved American movie stars and films.

I can imagine cinema audiences in wartime Germany losing themselves in this lovely fantasy world and then being yanked back into reality by an air raid warning, and having the movie stop so that they could evacuate to a bomb shelter.
