Members of the Conservative Society for Action attended the Islip Town Board meeting on October 14, 2009. Councilman Steve Flotteron offered three resolutions designed to save $750,000. Supervisor Nolan and his supporters on the town board announced plans to lay off 70 low level employees to balance the budget. Nolan recently gave out "discretionary raises" to a number of high-level officials. Flotteron feels high-level town employees should share in the burden of a tough economy. He presented three resolutions: 1) High-paid officials should accept a temporary 10% cut in salary; 2) High-paid employees should contribute 15% of their cost of health insurance; and 3) Recent raises for high-paid officials should be rolled back. The three resolutions were defeated because NO other town board member would even second the motions. In short, Islip Town will balance the budget on the backs of their lowest-paid employees while giving out raises to high-level officials.

  • Congratulations to the voters of Islip Town. They defeated Chris Bodkin and Jim Morgo. Both were part of the Nolan Team and both were defeated in a landslide in November. Thanks also to all those members of Conservative Society for Action for their work. It was a great victory for taxpayers!

  • Send their asses to the un-employment line in 2010

  • Chris Bodkin is up for re-election THIS year. You can send him to the unemployment line in two weeks! He's been collecting a paycheck from Islip town for 14 years. The first time he's asked to chip in a little to balance the budget and he won't even second the motion. We need to boot him out! Thanks1

  • I am very upset!! I have been voting every year for the budget and it's been a sham all along. why is the school district allowed to carry out school activities on the day of the vote? they manipulate the kids all year long and then have all parents invited for the activities and vote at the same time, guess which way they vote? I say, move the voting to the wing bldg. or the library, but most important of all it should be closed for all other activities. Let's bring taxes down.

  • Fed up with the current government in Islip? Tired of seeing politician salaries increase while your salary remains the same OR decreases? Tired of not having money for what YOU want to do because you are paying too much in taxes, etc.?

If so, consider voting for THOMAS SARC for Islip Town Council in 2011. Email inquiries, problems, complaints, suggestions to Mr. Sarc at thsenterprises@aol.com

  • Same old politics and same old politicians, we must replace those who are lacking common sense and keep putting their own personal gain in front of the people who need their help!
