Opening Ceremony of the XIII Panamerican Games held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The games took place between 23 July and 8 August, 1999. At the time they were the greatest and most succesfull Pan Am games in history with the major TV coverage.
This first part shows the beggining of the ceremony with a numbers of volunteers who form the emblem of the games by the fly of the gooses that come to this region every summer. Then, Brazilian and Chilean delegations are highlighted.
Spanish spoken. Taken from the Chilean TV coverage, (TV Chile)

  • ¿Cuál fue los primeros Juegos Panamericanos que transmitieron por la TV chilena?

  • Robert Scheidt would also carry Brazil's flag in Beijing 2008.

  • yeah, he said at that time, not overall.

  • Just a correction, the greatest and most succesfull Pan Am games in history with the major TV coverage was in Rio de Janeiro 2007, not Winnipeg.
