  • What a guy. Today a playboy like him would be impossible to sign for any team. He smoked, drinked and partied. He lived the good life and slept with women. Whereas Lauda was the "total professional" Hunt was just about driving fast and racing for the fun of it.

Kimi Raikkonen entered a snowmobile race under the pseudonym "James Hunt", and knowing Kimi's lifestyle it's not hard to see why.

Personally I think he would have beaten Lauda if they were together in McLaren.

  • Imagine a guy who is a womanizer, a smoker, a drunkey.... and the actual F1 champion. Of courase, Hunt was definately not a guy you should follow. But he lived a personaly freedom taht ebveryone should try to reach.

  • @McLarenMercedes Well, James Hunt was a unique guy - no doubt ! But to see it realistic, as a racing driver, he would have never been in the position, to beat Lauda !

Lauda almost died in 1976 and was barely alive, as he was taken to hospital. In fact, Lauda was already given the last Rites.

Til now, he is still suffering under the result of the crash and just a few years ago, he had to take a fourth (!!!) kidney, cause his own 2 are to damaged from the medicine.

  • great tribute to a great driver!
