About 1/4 of a mile downriver of the last railway bridge, the Calumet freighter passes us, as we ride on the Islander, a tour boat operating on the Saginaw River in Bay City. If you listen closely, you can hear the announcer asking the kids on board to guess how long the ship is, he claimed it was 635 feet long. :) From August 24, 2009.

  • Thanx for the post. I live a couple blocks from the river in Bay City and love to watch the ships go by.
