@ArmenianFootball 1994 Colombia was phenomenal!!!!! They were beating top notch teams in friendlies and qualifying. Thats why it was an upset. Colombia were favorites to win. The pressure got to them though. They had received death threats and their families lives were at stake. The drug war took over in Colombia. Thats the biggest part of their inability to win it all

Colombia v Romania was no upset for fuck sake lol Romania were one of the best teams at Italia 90 and Colombia were not. I think the Americans said this was an upset because in the qualifiers colombia beat Argentina 5-0. so they obviously rated them the worlds number 1 team lol I have to also say that American commentary on Football is highly annoying and irritating. Stick with the other Ball games guys

Maybe because they were the defending champions, in 1990 for example Argentine played the first game, although they were in group c (I think), but won the 1986 world cup.

@ArmenianFootball They had a very strong team as well, Valderama, Freddy Rincon, Asprilla, Escobar, Cordoba, Adolfo Valencia etc... all really good players and highly rated at the time.

If you actually watch the games Colombia played in you'll see they dominated all their games but had terrible luck, (1) they just couldn't finish their chances, (2) they conceeded some really bad, preventable goals.
