I am a recent member of the LDS church. I live in Nebraska and am the only LDS member in my family it is very hard and to see that so many others out there are LDS makes me feel so much better. It is a hard decision to make and an even harder one to follow especially when you come from a small town like I do but I know that the Church is true and that I need to work my hardest to get there I am grateful for songs that bring joy like this one they help me so much

Mat 25:40-"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." When we give acts of kindness to our brothers and sisters all over the world, we are showing appreciation to the Father. Good works is indeed a way to show faith and love and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Service is a PART of it. I think the "works, lest any man should boast" in Ephesians referred to doing service for the wrong intention:fame, glory, etc

@emilyjardine God also says that in Romans 3:23 "For All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." that means that no matter how hard you try to do good works, in the end you'll still fall short of God's glory. But the Good news is that God says "For Whosever (anyone) shall call upon the name of the Lord Shall be Saved!" :) I really hope you'll take what I said as not what I think, but what the Bible truly says. I'm praying for you. ♥ Monica

@emilyjardine oh i see.. but do you know that the Bible says in Eph. 2:8+9 "For by Grace are ye Saved, Through faith, and that Not of Yourself, it Is the gift of God, Not of Works lest any man should boast." The Bible says that works won't get you to heaven, but Only faith in the finish work of Calvary.
-
Yes, partly. Through good works and faith in Jesus Christ. They go hand in hand because if we have faith in Him, we'll have faith in His commandments and try our hardest to follow them. :)
-
@emilyjardine hmmm...how do mormons believe they can get to heaven? Good works?
-
Mormons believe in God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior. It's in the name (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), so its kind of a really big deal for us, but a lot of people still misunderstand for some reason. :)
