I saw a clip or two about Mount Hyjal and was "curious" to venture into this new territory to find out what it was like.

Using a glitch to exploit the game. You have to use the Unstuck option to glitch across the invisible wall that cuts you out of Hyjal, and they weren't too thrilled to see me running around in what's intended to be restricted.
I've since been unbanned, though. Happened a few months back. I thought the admin was a boss NPC, :P

I believe now that The Burning Crusade is out it is an active area. I quit wow a while back so not 100% sure... then again it could be an area left open for further expantions.

If its the ledge that you mean it has been removed by Blizzard from the game.

Nope, it's still shut off even after the BC.
I've gone to Hyjal twice, got a 3-week ban the second time after a GM caught me there. It's a bit unsettling to be cruising around an empty area and suddenly see a guy with blue name text appear. <<

So it is basically an unused and empty zone at this point?

I've checked the area and it remains an empty section. Rumnors are the lvl cap will be raised (in the near future) or maybe the area will be opened for a new instance(s) ...*shrugs
