@salopy0 Thankyou for your reply. I know it can be done but, srill have problems doing it. I have tried fine resin core solder not what you have mentioned. Thanks for the advice Cheers
@purplearrow47 its certainly not impossible and the cable length can be reduced in tern boosting volume. all u need is flux, a precision iron, silver solder and heat shrink. i have done it before no probs
FYI - Soldering small wires like these is virtually impossible for average people. I fix broken earphone wires by using a liqiud cable (electrical) glue. Then i apply liquid insulating compound to protect the electrical circuit. Also be careful in how long the repaired wire ends up being. For example if you have to insert a new piece of wire to replace a damaged section - it will change the electrical resistance on the side you are repairing, The result will be a lower volume in that ear.
that company is indeed one of the best. i bought a pair of er-4ps from them. they lasted a really long time with my being very rough on them. when i called (within the warranty) about me breaking them, they told me to send it back and they sent me it back fixed up and working perfectly. i told them it was not my fault, but it was pretty obvious that it wasn't due to normal wear and tear. etymotic's customer service will be the primary reason i stay a customer of them. and they sound amazing.
i had the loose connection problem. they sent me a new pair and i put shoo goo on the the plug thing so it would'nt get fk'd up again. i like these earphones best i've ever had.
