The mesmers are viable in PVP and PVE, but yeah, an actual 'deception' build doesn't work in either mode right now. Plenty of other builds work, personally I like the confusion build. But even specced to be an all-out clone-factory you can't rely on them for more than a second or so of distraction/protection.

you can tell eventually when fighting but its fairly hard to beat a mesmar one on one i can beat every class one on one you just need to be move consecutive and good at kiting
