Aug 6 - The group behind a Tibet banner protest at the Olympics in Beijing say they're planning to continue their actions.

Two Britons and two Americans unfurled "Free Tibet" banners from poles near the Birds Nest National Stadium in Beijing on Wednesday (6 August, 2008) before being detained by the Chinese police.

A spokesman for the games organising committee, BOCOG later said they firmly opposed protests staged in the Chinese capital and asked foreigners to respect China's laws and regulations.

Iona Liddell from the group Students for a Free Tibet -- which includes the two Britons involved in Wednesday's protest, Iain Thom and Lucy Marion -- spoke to Reuters in London and said that their actions were justified and that they plan to continue protest action.
