Benny Hill Grave Update 14 Feb 2010

This video is an update to the slide show I created as I can now show you the actual gravestone of Benny Hill his mothers name is engraved on his grave too, the gold lettering has not weathered too well as its nearly 18 years since he was lain to rest at Hollybrook Cemetery here in Southampton. Hope you like the video.

Shortly after Benny was buried, an attempt was made to dig up his body from the cemetery. Local gossip was that valuables had been buried with him.

@MJC1124 That is absolutely correct as it was reported in the local paper, but I heard that he was removed to another area of the cemetary for a time while his grave was re-inforced before placing him back with a heavier slab placed on top on the grave, god rest his soul.

I don't think Benny would care too much about his tombstone or his living rello's. He apparently didn't care too much for his millions or worldly goods & did good things for 'nobody' people.

An unassuming, nice human being, not in it for any kind of self glorification.

Its very sad to see that his tomb is not cleaned on a regular basis ..Benny was a national treasure and during the 1970's in america The Benny Hill show was one of the biggest shows on TV ..HE WAS WORTH MILLIONS and this is how is blood relatives treat his place of rest ..disgraceful

he left thousends of pounds and no body care of his tomb.I can't understand it.where are his friends family .He gave money in his will and everyone forget about him.Tipical English meaning.My congratulations!

@grzesiekfso Thanks for letting us know yes I do agree it needs cleaning plus also the lettering on gravestone needs to be enhanced to shine brightly again after the years passed since he died the grave has not stood up to the test of time with the inscription fading badly, Benny Hill was way ahead of his time in comedy.

I was there.The tomb is very dirty now .Nobody cleaning it and lot of bird's shit on it.
