Played on a Hohner G Special 20. There is much argument about the key of this tune, some say D mixolydian, others say G hexatonic. Whatever it is, it can be played on either a G or a C harmonica. In the next video I'll play it on a C harp. It can be easily played on the white notes of a piano, but starting on D as the root note.
So a cool tune that sounds more complicated than it actually is. Can be accompanied on the guitar and stuff in D or G, but for me DADGAD works really well, rooted in the D 057700 chord.
Cheers for watching and reading.

  • Great stuff. Do you read music for diatonic or simply pick these tunes up by ear?

  • All by ear...I mainly listen to concertina and whistle players. Cheers for looking and listening.

  • As usual you did a GREAT JOB on that, nevertheless I personally would love to hear another pre-war blues from you, maybe you accidently just have one in store...!?

    Cheers

  • Hi Mazblues...I'll stick more bluesy stuff up soon, keep watching. Cheers.
