This was ten years of anger at Thatcher coming out in one day. But remember that the ruling elites learnt a lot that day. They learned how far the British public could be pushed. That is why subsequently imigration rose, they needed to dilute us.

@ailingequation It was not a fair system. A family of workers were hammered, as mine were at that time.

@chapmasi Capitalism gives us Daz Ultra. Mobile phone technology was made possible by the likes of Einstien and the rest of the scientific world, which had nothing to do with capitalism. Capitalism is fine, but it should be kept within the secondary and tertiary industries, and kept out of the primary industries.

just think about the poor dickhead who has to clean that up >:(

scientists =/= capitalists

And what do peaceful protests achieve? Nothing. Look at the Chartist movement in the 1800s. A petition with something in the region of 1-2 million signatures was sent to the government, and the ignored it. It was only when the ordinary people rose up that the government took any notice.

@chapmasi You really don't know what the hell you'r e talking about.

@TheMikeyReilly Your entire philosophy encompasses the last 450 years of known history and mankind's progression throughout through those era's. Bullet point the bad and subjectively forget the ground breaking scientific achievements mankind has accomplished through capitalism. Do you think socialism would have found cures for thousands of fatal diseases? NO
The main difference is Capitalists get off their arse's and DO IT. Socialists sit on their lazy arse's and complain that they CAN'T DO IT

@chapmasi the military suppression of Greece, India, Malaya, Indonesia, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama and Turkey, the Gulf War, trade in human body parts, malnutrition, Exxon Valdez, deforestation, organized crime, the Heroin and Cocain trade, tuberculosis, the destruction of the Ozone Layer, cancer, exploitation of labour and the deaths of 50,000,000 Communists and trade unionists in this century alone.
Sure. Id miss my HD TV, but the 5.9 billion without one wouldn't.

I ask myself the same question russ, it's almost as if we've lost the ability to stand up for something. It's almost weird that we take all this and do nothing about it.
