Shuje Singh's story is the story of Everyman. If there was ever an unsung hero, it is Shuje. He is our hero absurd. He and this film, embody at once, everything that is tragic and comic about our lives. Lives lived in a sort of a no man's land. But unfortunately, this is a no man's land that is not a safe haven by any stretch of imagination, and it could be negotiated any time for any thing by any one. This film is also a personal heartfelt tribute to Dr. Qureshi and men and women like him who decide to play cricket on a sunny day. If that's the least we can do, then that's what we should all do.
