  • I love the GRRR of the old Cars For record. I one time Rode the D Types Once on a Transit Museum Fan trip to Coney island and then the R-1's this past summer. Is this The Interior to the C Types or Q Types?

  • it's the R1

  • @ishouldntbeyoutubing The station was named Eastern Parkway. Broadway Junction was originally used only for the Canarsie line station crossing over Eastern Parkway, opening in 1928. Only in the last decade or so has the entire complex been given the name Broadway Junction, which also includes the IND underground station here.

  • These R1/9's never rode on the Lexington El, or any other full-fledged El. They would've been too heavy, Also, the El cars were built to IRT widths. They never would have cleared the station platforms.

  • @narnia0100 the diffrence in the bve versions is graphic quality and what they do.

  • What are the differences of BVE2, BVE4, and BVE5? Which one do you prefer out of the three?

  • Very interesting that you can do this with a computer program!

  • @milepost53

They do, but they are not the same. Arnines used D-3-F compressors while the R10 used 3YC and R12 used 2CY3B.

  • I take back some of my last post. There was a Manhattan Junction, but it was renamed Broadway Junction in 1913. So, I was able to figure out your route. The first three stations (Chauncey, Halsey, Gates) were on the Broadway line and had long platforms for the trains to Jamaica. After Gates, it made a sharp left onto Lex crossing the tracks that continued to run over Broadway. From here on, the stations would have been short original 1885 construction with wooden platforms.

  • Not to be a killjoy, but the Lex Ave el structure wouldn't have supported an R1 even if the BMT was using IND cars then. They ran wooden gate cars with two rows of seats like a railroad coach. The longest train was 5 cars which means your stations are much too long. There was no Manhattan Junction station and I can't read the names of the other stations in the video. I never saw a motorman back up if he overshot a station. Other than that...

  • The compressors sound more like the R10, R12 post war cars made By ACF.
