Taken by George Hilton around 1904, This feature print shows Queen's road Central, built by The Royal Engineers and dedicated to Queen Victoria of England in 1842. Spanning across Victoria City from Shek Tong Tsui to Wan Chai, It marks the original shoreline of Hong Kong island before any land reclamation projects began. Also clearly visible in this feature print is the St. John's cathedral. Built in 1847, it was dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, the cathedral still stands proudly today along side the busy garden road.
