The latest instalment in my experiments with the Reactor engine that ships with 3DS Max. Each time I try to improve some aspect of the simulation or animation. This time around I have rendered at a better resolution, 640x360, which is one of the lower HD resolutions. This is also the first time I've used the Deforming Mesh Collection to control the "track hammer" which is keyframed independently of the Reactor physics simulation. This seemed to work well, but slowed the simulation down a lot. I do wish that Autodesk would update Reactor to make it use all four cores of my processor!

  • wuuut??? that red car is so using cheat codes!

cool videos man, really fun to watch

  • @username112256

It does look like that! Thanks for your comment.

  • lol look like blind drivers

  • @fleshmannn It is a bit basic. I have rigged up a full car with steering, but the time it takes to actually "drive" them around the circuit is quite painstaking. It looks a bit more realistic than these, but shows my poor driving skills up!

  • man you are amazing i tried to use toycar but i an control the car can you tell me how can i use the car?

  • @efeeryilmaz In this example, I just used the walls of the track to control the direction of the cars. It is a little basic, but it works fairly well. Of course, if you wanted to be clever, you could make the walls invisible to the renderer or delete them and then the cars would appear to race around the circuit on their own!
