Gameplay from Asteroids playing on an Atari 2600 VCS retro games console. Retro gaming.
This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.
Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.
I'm amazed that no-one's commented on this one so far. Given the limitations of the VCS, they managed to come up with a playable game. I use this cartridge in a 2600 Jr to test 9-pin joysticks, in fact, and often end up doing a couple of screens worth of garishly-coloured space rocks.
Incidentally, your comment about the bullets being hard to see is spot on. Modern TVs just don't tune in to these old systems well. I'm trying to find a composite mod for the 2600 Jr (PAL) to overcome this.
