The Labyrinth of Time is a 1993 adventure game by Terra Nova Development and Electronic Arts. The game tasks players with freeing the world from enslavement by destroying the eponymous time-spanning, pan-dimensional maze constructed by King Minos and his servant Daedalus. Created by Michal Todorovic and artist Bradley W. Schenck (two members of game development group The Dreamers Guild), The Labyrinth of Time uses distinctive combinations of Celtic knotwork, Art Deco, Greek mythology, and surreal modernism to convey its unworldly atmosphere. Puzzles primarily involve navigating mazes and collecting items, but the reliance on inventory leaves a few opportunities for dead ends. A useful map provides players with their bearings.

This video shows the game's introduction sequence and a very small portion of gameplay, mostly to show the prominent Maze Center area.

If you enjoyed these videos, remember that The Labyrinth of Time is still on sale from Wyrmkeep Entertainment Co. It's $17 for a PC/Mac/Linux copy or $5 for the iPhone/iPod Touch version. If they get enough support, they might finally be able to do a sequel!

Additionally, make sure to support this game's artist, Bradley W. Schenck. He's incredibly talented and would probably appreciate some extra help for his different projects.

    "The Killing Ground" 2:42-3:40

    "Kisses In The Wind" 2:41-5:15

5:16-7:03 is unknown. I will let you know what the title is if I find it.

"The Menacing Silence" 7:04-7:25 (continues on part 2 of the game)

  • I remember ripping the audio files from the install disk (they were simply .au files renamed) and listening to them while coding my college CS projects. Man - those were the days...

  • This game is a fantastic gem. Its only flaws being its impractical P&C interface and its very short length.

  • @ArmedZagi Just thought.. there was a teaser for another game that came with Labyrinth. Maybe something about a killer computer on a moon base? Any idea what that might have been? Sorry, 18 year old memories can be fuzzy lol.

  • So much nostalgia. I was 4 when this was released... and it used to be absolutely terrifying for me! :D

  • the constant laughing in the mirror maze almost drove me insane!

  • I love this game! the music is fantastic!

  • oh my god! i had a real copy of this way way back in 2001 played it for awhile then it kept crashing. never saw the end. its epic anyway.
