Me talking about the novel 'The Woods' by Harlan Coben. It was a pretty good book, very well read in the Norwegian audio edition which was the one I read. A little too 'Hollywoody' at times, but engrossing and above average for its genre.

  • Oh yes, she is very well known. The one hundred crown bill has her portrait on it, and our new Opera House (it opened in April last year, down by the harbor here in Oslo) has a very cool address - No1 Kirsten Flagstad Square. :-) There is a statue of her outside the building. She was the first director of the Norwegian Opera here in Oslo, it was because of her that they built an Opera in the first place. So she is definitely remembered. :-)

    Thanks for your comment!!

  • Is the great opera singer Kirsten Flagstad still well known in modern day Norway? (I'm a fan, just wondering!) Thanks for this post. I will definitely check out this book.
