Mordern Heavy Bluse? Who says that? Everyone calls it Stoner rock, like it or not it's a very broadly and commonly used genre 'tag'. Just saying. I wouldn't call Down stoner rock, your right bout that. I think Mordern Heavy Blues is actualy quite a suitable title for Downs music but for bands like Sleep and Orange Goblin I never think to call them anything other than Stoner Rock.

@AnataNile Yes, stoner in my oppinion is a dumb tag fans given to this kind of music. U will never hear an actuall musician defining his music as stoner rock. The thing you might call stoner rock may be just modern heavy blues, or heavy metal with a blues influence.If i would describe Down's music in a tagg, i would call it heavy blues.Now there are other bands who tend to have psycedelic influence from the Indian culture and others who are doomy or sludgy/hardcore punk.There is a difference.

@EK916pitbull Actually there is no such thing as stoner rock, stoner defines the mood more rather than it describes the music. Down plays heavy metal/hard rock with blues influences.

Jimmy Bowers such a laid back cool guy. Down is a fucking bluesy band and i gotta be honest, though i am a huge pantera fan, I like Down better, its an insane bunch of musicians, all the way from pepper keenan to phil to jimmy to rex to kirk
